Up & running again!

Things have been quiet here, but not entirely by choice. I started having more and more trouble posting photos a couple months ago, and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. Instead of chasing down the solution, I’d try something, get frustrated, and save it for another day. Until this week. I finally decided it just wasn’t something I could fix on my own and started looking for help. I found a company on Tuesday, submitted my request for help Wednesday morning, and by early afternoon, it was fixed! I should have gone this route long ago. I’m so happy I can post again!

This certainly is a unique time for all of us. With Pete leading a lot of the COVID-19 preparations at the hospital in Hibbing, we decided it would be best for him to stay there until things have calmed down a bit. They’ve provided an apartment where he can stay overnight when he’s not in the ER and on weekends. I’m incredibly thankful to have Nathy here to help with the kids and to provide some grown-up interaction! We really miss Pete, but we know the work he is doing is vital. We keep praying for him and for all the healthcare workers around the world right now.

During our last few weeks at home, we’ve been taking daily walks to throw rocks into the lake and get fresh air. Ella’s also been busy earning Girl Scout badges. So far she’s done cooking, digital photography, and music. I think I enjoy doing these with her so much because the guidelines are already set and she’s learning fun, new skills. We’ll see how many she can earn by the time she heads back to school.

I’m excited to post everything I’ve been saving the last couple months, especially now that we’re home full-time and there is space in my day to work on it. I’m still not on social media (though I do sometimes briefly check in on Facebook for live events and such), so this is my place to share.

What are you doing to pass the time at home? We’ll share more of our activities & ideas in the days ahead! Take care, friends!

Good to hear from you! I’m so thankful that this is happening as we head into spring so that most ages can be outside without additional stress of extreme cold or heat. I’ll be thinking about you guys, its not hard for “dad” to be away, but i think you’re making the right choice.

Good to hear from you. What a change this virus has brought. We are thankful for all the health care workers and thanks to you for giving up this time with Pete. God bless you and your family and keep you healthy and safe.

I was happy to see an update from you:) I was wondering how it was going for you during this pandemic. How is the schooling at home going for you? Rowan does not want to cooperate very well for mom so it’s been a little challenging for me, but we are trying to still keep routine and order in the house and do as much as his attention span will allow. Hope you stay well and healthy ❤️!

    • Hi Kenzie! Goodness, the school stuff with Sam is tough! It’s definitely a reminder of how challenged I was with trying to do it when we were in Kenya. Last week we had Spring Break, which was good and bad. The break was nice, but then we got off routine. I’m not looking forward to getting that back in order in the next few days. Little by little, right? I’m thankful it’s warming up a little more up here. We desperately need our outside time! I hope you’re all doing well! Happy Easter!
