The Today Show!

We had a little excitement in our house this week. Our reunion videos with Daddy were on The Today Show! Can you even believe it?! It was Hoda Kotb’s Morning Boost. Click HERE to see the story on The Today Show website.

The Today Show has been my favorite news show since I was in middle school, so this felt super, super special. They included the clip in their Instagram feed and, as of today, has had nearly 51,000 views!

The night before, the footage was also on Inside Edition. I haven’t been able to find a clip of that one online. Right This Minute also shared it. The banter over the video is pretty fun on that one.

I’ve had the question asked a few times wondering how our video was found. Last week, when I posted the original reunion clips here on the blog, I used Vimeo to upload the videos so I could share them. I didn’t realize others could see those videos if they were public, but a reporter in NY sent me an email a few days later asking if they could share our story. His team put the video together and submitted it to various news sources. We had no idea if anyone would show it. I had a little heads up on the possibility of Inside Edition, but I found out about The Today Show when a friend sent me a message Wednesday morning after it aired on the east coast. We couldn’t believe it!

Seeing our video shared and reading the comments from friends has brought so much joy to our week. When all this is over and we’re back to regular life, going to work and school and running errands more than once every other week, we’ll have this sweet memory. The weeks we missed Daddy and the day he surprised the kids in the very best way.
