Can you believe this boy is ten? We celebrated him in his favorite way … at Disney World! We did the same thing for Ella when she turned ten. Pete and I took Sam on his very own trip right before his birthday at the end of May. Can you tell he was so happy?
Sam was absolutely thrilled that so many people wished him happy birthday as we made our way through the parks. It was great.
We let Sam choose whatever he wanted to do the entire weekend. That meant we spent lots of time at the pool and eating pasta!
Sam got to build a light saber as one of his special birthday presents. He picked each piece at Tatooine Traders, which he loved.
Sam’s adoration of Buzz and Woody is still as strong as ever, so I found some fun surprises for our room.
On Sam’s actual birthday, Pete and I joined his class for a little celebration. I pulled out some of my decorating supplies and made cupcakes for the special day.
We also celebrated at home that night with his favorite pizza and more cupcakes. This kid seriously loves birthdays so much, he could hardly deal with the fact it was HIS birthday we were celebrating!
It was so much fun celebrating Sam’s birthday this year! I still can’t believe he’s ten already. Each year around his birthday, I go back to read this first post after his birthday and get emotional. What a journey this has been. Sam continues to teach us such valuable lessons, like slowing down, living in the moment, and getting excited about simple things just because they’re fun. I’m excited to see what this next year will bring for him!
