We are super proud of Auntie Becky for running her very first half marathon! I had been training to run it with her, but following a couple longer runs at the beginning of September, I developed a stress fracture in my right foot. Such a bummer. So Ella, Sam, and I took my sister out to Ashland, Wisconsin to be her cheerleaders!
It turned out to be a cold morning for running – 35* and snow at times – so I bundled the kids in snow pants and face masks, got us all hot chocolate (well, coffee for me, of course), and we tracked Becky along the course. We caught her three different times! It really was a gorgeous course through trees of changing leaves for most of the way. I maybe enjoyed it more than the runners, though, since I was in my warm car. I wouldn’t have been sad to be out running with them! Ella’s favorite part of the race was when a course volunteer asked her to stand in for a few minutes. What a girl.
So proud of you, Becky!!
